52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks Week 33 Prompt Comedy

52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks
Week 33
Prompt – Comedy

Grandpa Bill: “What kind of music does a rabbit like to listen to? “
Granddaughter Kelsey: “I don't know.”
Grandpa Bill: “ Hip – Hop!”
The moans and groans tell us it has to be a “dad or grandpa joke”.
I must admit that comedy, jokes and humor were not a Peters attribute. It must have been our Mennonite background. We weren't straight laced, but I can't recall a dad joke ever. Help me out siblings if you can recall just one.

Circa 1980 Anton (Tony) Hoffart
Bill comes by it honestly because his father was a natural joke teller. Tony Hoffart was the master of sucking you in and creating a room full of moans. Unfortunately, I can't recall any specific ones. Tony's stories were the long drawn out ones that move seamlessly from an ongoing conversation to the punch line of a joke and you rarely seen it coming. What genius!
Circa 1950's Tony In An Apron!
When I think of my father in law, Tony, I recall his quick wit, his sense of humor and that he seemed to be always smiling.  This was a part of who he was and probably why he was so well liked by his family and those in the Saskatoon community.
1983 Jill and Jackie Tickling Grandpa

Jill reminded me last week that it has been 27 years since he died of cancer. He was just 69 years old. We all miss him so much.
